ONE DAY WITH…

alexandra.png

1. What are you currently working on?
I am working on recruiting the best talents for eGym. Our focus is not only on business profiles but also on highly qualified tech people. It is so much fun to get to know new people every day and see them progressing through our recruiting process. Besides that, I am part of organizing amazing eGym events, like for example the eGym Winter Event in December.

2. What was your most exciting project?
It is very hard to pick just one…but if I have to I would say the redesign of our career page. I had the chance to join the team at a very early stage of the project. It was exciting to see the ups and downs during the project phases. I had the chance to contribute and now I am happy with the result 🙂

3. Describe the team you are working in with three words.
Lovely, funny, passionate.

4. What is special about your job at eGym?
I love that I have a lot of responsibility and room for innovation. My colleagues and my team are always open for new ideas how to recruit the best people or how to improve the process. We work together very closely and this also helped me improve my IT knowledge for example.

5. How would you describe eGym in with three words?
Dynamic, international, Vollgas.

6. What is your favorite eGym event?
Of course the eGym summer event 2016: Summer, sun and fun people. What else could you ask for 🙂

1. What are you currently working on?
Many things! Each quarter we have an employee survey to find out how employees are feeling about aspects of working culture, leadership as well as general organization and communication. From the results we draw appropriate actions to try to address areas for improvement. The tricky thing is, that not all actions will deliver the results straight away, some things need to be slowly implemented over a period of time to show their impact. Also I’m working on improving internal communications. So that means how to make the team meetings (where the entire company gathers) more engaging and an overall better platform for open communication and exchange. In addition, we have a Communications Task Force – a mixed team of volunteers who are trying to enhance the communication between the teams. This includes projects to clearly define the purpose of our multiple communication channels, improve the organization of our intranet and set-up “team mash-ups” to get different teams to get to know each other. As our company is growing each month there are many new faces to meet!
Also as we know that people spend a lot of time in the office, we are trying to make it the most welcoming and comfortable place to be. To improve our company culture, this includes coming up with ways to make the office more inviting, like maintaining nice social areas for people to have meetings and lunch, serving breakfast every other Monday, fruit baskets during the week and after work drinks every other Friday. A few times a year we have entire company events where eGymees from all our offices around the world come together.

2. What was your most exciting project?
During the summer we brought the European Championships 2016 to the office. We decorated it with country flags, had a kick-off BBQ event for eGymees and friends where everyone was wearing a Hawaii Flower chain and packed into our big conference room to watch the game. We also ran a KickTipp tournament which was exciting to see how those who knew the least about football found themselves on top of the ladder! My favorite though was the “crazy fan photo competition”. Teams needed to submit photos of themselves dressed up in football fan gear or other funny outfits – teams were so creative it was amazing!

3. Describe the team you are working in with three words.
Dedicated, hardworking & lively.

4. What is special about your job at eGym?
I work on tasks that aim to improve the working environment to make it a better place to be. And I think that is really important. It’s always changing and there is an array of new project opportunities to improve the working place itself and the experience of the whole team. Employees are the most important part – and if there is a will, there is a way!

5. How would you describe eGym in three words?
Action-packed, diverse & unpredictable ; )

6. What is your favorite eGym event?
The surprise ones! (Does that count?) One day we were told from our managers that everyone needs to be in the office – including the working students who weren’t normally supposed to be in. Then at 1pm everyone was called to the common kitchen and our CEO made an announcement of a big milestone for the company and that we were to celebrate! We were told to enjoy the afternoon off, were all given eGym hoodies and in the evening all were invited to a Medieval feast. It was hilarious and mind-blowing.

1. What are you currently working on?
I am currently working on the monthly salary payroll. That’s definitely the most critical time of the month as we have to ensure that our employees will get their salary on time 🙂

2. What was your most exciting project?
My most exciting project was to re-launch our internal travel policy and implement an expense claim tool for all our eGym countries.

3. Describe the team you are working in with three words.
Highly motivated, very helpful and coffee-addicted 🙂

4. What is special about your job at eGym?
Even though eGym is a start-up founded in Munich, we are working with people based in different countries within Europe and even in the US which is very interesting but can also be challenging sometimes.

5. How would you describe eGym in with three words?
Very focussed but open-minded and fun.

6. What is your favorite eGym event?
I think all eGym events are great, however as a bavarian girl I have to stick to tradition and admit that the internal eGym-Wiesn event was fantastic!
